We create space for cultural transformation

We are a collective of artists and art makers from different backgrounds active in Berlin since 2020. We research in the field of participatory and cultural processes. We are a satellite of MAP and Mestizo Collectief in Belgium. We design artistic devices that stimulate the development of new narratives. We accompany artists, institutions and organizations in their quest to transform policies and develop participatory processes that address current challenges.

Mission
European cities have become centers where people from all over the world converge. When we come together an infinite number of diverse stories converge. This provides an opportunity to build a fairer account of who we are as humanity: a priceless treasure. However, accessing these stories is not always easy.

At Mestizx, we specialize in making these stories visible through artistic means, empowering storytellers. These efforts take the form of projects with private or governmental organizations. The common thread is the participatory nature and the raw material: stories. We believe that art plays a crucial role in shaping the future.

To approach that future, artistic practice requires the widest range of perspectives and intuitions. In a unique context marked by the growth of urban centers, major demographic shifts, ecological challenges and global interconnectedness, we need new responses and strategies. From this urgency, we build our work, acknowledging the challenges, but focusing on all that we can learn and the potential benefits of these new possibilities.
